Datasets used
- Reporting Carrier On-Time Performance (1987–present): one record per domestic flight by airlines that carry at least 0.5% of domestic scheduled passenger revenue. This includes scheduled and actual times, delays, cancellations, diversions and delay causes. Published monthly at transtats.bts.gov, usually two to three months after the month ends.
- L_AIRPORT: the BTS lookup table of airport codes and names.
- L_UNIQUE_CARRIERS: the BTS lookup table of airline codes and names.
Coverage
The current build uses 14,105,091 flight records from August 2024 to July 2026. Only airlines that report to BTS are included. Some airlines stop appearing when they merge or stop flying. When that happens, their pages say when they last reported.
The data covers domestic flights only. International flights and flights by smaller airlines that don’t report to BTS are not included.
